Description Why PWC PWC is seeking a forward?thinking,
action?oriented Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager who
will champion a culture where safety, environmental stewardship,
compliance, and operational excellence are deeply embedded in
everyday work. This role has enterprise-wide influence and directly
shapes how our Water Resources and Electric Utility divisions
prevent incidents, protect employees, safeguard the community, and
deliver reliable public services. Your Role & Impact The EHS
Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous
improvement of programs that support strategic priorities. This
includes building a strong safety culture, driving behavioral
change, engaging employees at all levels, and ensuring consistent
compliance with OSHA, EPA, NESC, NFPA, DOT, FMCSA, and other
regulatory standards. The position oversees a small team of SHE
professionals and manages contractors supporting compliance,
environmental programs, and specialized safety functions. This role
is also responsible for certain elements of the organizations
emergency preparedness and response planning, incident/spill
response, annual compliance inspections, policy and procedure
development, incident investigations and root cause analysis, and
oversight of the Workers Compensation Program. The EHS Manager
proactively collaborates with Organizational leaders to anticipate
risks, identify gaps, and ensure that safe work practices/training
are consistent, sustainable, and measurable. Core Responsibilities
Strategic Safety Leadership Provide visible, hands?on leadership
and reinforce accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
across operational teams. Conduct safety audits, field
observations, and inspections while coaching leaders and frontline
employees. Provide accurate, timely, and reliable guidance during
emergency events. Lead the development and implementation of safety
programs for: Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO) Confined Space Entry
Trenching/Shoring PPE/Workzone Safety and Traffic control
Respiratory Protection Hearing Conservation Contractor Safety
Management Industrial Hygiene practices Electrical Safety/Arc Flash
Coach and develop a small internal team of SHE professionals; set
clear expectations and support performance growth. Manage external
contractors providing safety, environmental, or compliance
services. Environmental Compliance Evaluate changing market,
regulatory, and technological conditions; adjust processes and
operating models to address gaps, reduce hazardous/universal waste,
and increase value to the enterprise. Ensure operational compliance
with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Promote
reuse/recycling to reduce environmental impact Evaluate operational
investments, major projects, and resource allocations to enable
data driven decision-making and operational efficiency. Identify,
standardize, and deploy best practices across the division to drive
sustained performance and continuous improvement. Ensure that the
division’s strategic direction, capabilities, and infrastructure
evolve with market needs and emerging industry trends. Performance
Management & Analytics Establish key performance indicators (KPIs)
to measure program success; analyze trends and deliver clear
executive-level reporting. Lead initiatives to reduce incidents,
minimize waste, conserve resources, and advance sustainability
efforts. Manage Workers Compensation administration and ensure
accurate OSHA logs, TRIR/DART, and incident rate calculations.
Ensure all safety training requirements are met; introduce
innovative training approaches including computer-based learning.
Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Occupational
Safety or related field and at least ten (10) years of progressive
safety or environmental management experience, including five (5)
years in a supervisory or project management capacity or Associate
degree in Occupational Safety or related field and at least twelve
(12) years of safety or environmental management experience. Proven
ability to build and maintain a strong safety culture across
field?based utility operations. Solid knowledge of utility safety,
environmental compliance, inspections, and industry best practices.
Strong understanding of OSHA recordkeeping, DART and incident rate
calculations, and workers compensation processes. Working knowledge
of industrial hygiene, hearing conservation, and exposure
monitoring. Ability to lead emergency response/major incident
investigations with accuracy and calm under pressure. Clear,
effective communicator with strong presentation and training
skills. Skilled in building strong relationships with employees,
leaders, regulators, contractors, and community partners. Strong
analytical and problem?solving skills with a focus on prevention,
sustainability, and operational excellence. What You’ll Get A
