# Position Summary Information## Department DescriptionThe College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) is the largest academic unit within the University and consists of about 71 units, including centers, programs, institutional support and 42 academic departments and interdisciplinary curricula, which offer both undergraduate bachelors degrees and graduate-level masters and PhD degrees. The College is divided into four academic divisions: Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The Office of the Dean is responsible for all of the academic, academic student support, financial and administrative operations in the College of Arts & Sciences. The College of Arts & Sciences Business Operations Office includes Dean?s Office teams for both finance and human resources as well as a shared services team to provide human resources and financial support for individual departments and programs. The College of Arts & Sciences Shared Services Center enhances operations of many of its departments, curricula, and programs by consolidating their individual business operations. By applying, you will be considered for all four positions.The Accounting Technician is responsible for processing all types of financial transactions for the departments that are supported by the finance shared service team. This position will work with all fund types and numerous sources, including: state, trust, facilities and administration, expendable gifts, endowments, and contract and grants.Position responsibilities include managing state, trust, and overhead accounts, managing post-award grant activity/transactions, accounts payable and receivable, voucher requests and travel reimbursements, purchasing card reconciliation and university billing, and monthly account reconciliation. This position will also process payments, reimbursements, journal entries, purchase orders, independent contractor requests, and coordinate vendor activities. As directed this position will also assist in the generation of financial reports and participate in special financial projects and initiatives.## Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.## Essential Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesCandidates must have experience reading, analyzing, and reconciling financial data, as well as experience viewing and creating reports in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
