Job Description:

The Principal Business Process Analyst (BPA) should work closely with the business and technical teams to support and enhance end to end business processes. Experience with process mapping and process reengineering in areas including, but not limited to, Finance, Customer Support, Order to Cash, Lead to Opportunity, Identify Management, Governance. Work with Process Owners on business process reengineering, along with manage and assist in the implementation of business process reengineering and Business Performance projects. Primary focus will be on reviewing various department workflows, process mapping and costing resources to redefine process for overall improvement reducing staff underutilization, reducing non value-added processes, increase profitability, automation and service levels. Define how system and software applications can improve and enable business activities, workflows, and processes for both internal processes and externally facing systems that support customer and vendor engagement.
Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the technical needs to create business and technical process requirements stories and documents
  • Coordinate project meetings, communicate with the team, internal/external partners and senior management
  • Work closely with other Business and IT team members to document and evaluate core business processes, enabling and governing processes and sub-processes, using quality tools such as MS Visio flow charts. Collaborate with stakeholders such and Finance, Operations Business Partners and consultants to perform hands-on planning, conduct business process requirement sessions, interviews with business, workshops with the business to understand business need, document business process requirements related to applications, documentation and maintenance of business process requirements, including work flow analysis and process engineering and re-engineering
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes leveraging tools and software packages to develop or enhance process metrics. Implement processes that are accurate, streamlined, with an emphasis on providing timely and accurate data to the business.
  • Monitor process performance and provide ongoing feedback
  • Develop reports that help optimize business performance, support internal controls and performance KPIs
  • Identify process adherence issues and corresponding training opportunities in a manner that allows for sound decision-making and ongoing improvements. Develop materials and provide training that establishes the required initial user acumen and can be leverage for ongoing educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of integrations related to api calls, users calls and programming logic
  • Develop technical documentation, system flowcharts, and other materials as needed
  • Create specifications, test plans, and draw up execution plans. Include business impact and ROI as needed
  • Able to guide and mentor BAs and BPAs on projects and ensure the BA/BPA resources are productive on the project quickly
  • Review the deliverables from all BA and BPA resources on the project and responsible for quality of these resources on the project
  • Experience working with IT teams in an Agile or Waterfall environment and explain the business requirements in detail and translate to the technical teams
  • Work with business teams to define the User Acceptance Test criteria, help the business in defining User Acceptance test scenarios.
  • Work with Dev, QA teams in explaining the business requirements and translate into reporting functional requirements
  • Work with Project Manager to identify the changes, gaps, risks and issues in requirements
  • Ensure bi-directional traceability matrices or requirements are providedQualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in large enterprise systems with rich business process analysis and requirements gathering specific to complex integrated systems
  • 6+ years of experience in conducting business requirements sessions and business process modeling (Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), Event Driven Process Chain (EPC), Human Process Modeling (HPM), etc------)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience of Scrum Master in any Agile tool similar to JIRA
  • 2 + Years integrations experience with COTS or SaaS applications
  • 2 + Years------ experience with Oracle EBS PA, AP, AR, GL and Procurement modules
  • Experience in any of the following: Agile, RUP, CMMI, Six Sigma, Lean, ISO and ITIL Process
  • Expert in MS Office tools including MS Visio, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge SDLC, Agile and RICEFW or CELI framework and processes, working experience of Onsite ------ Offshore model and with highly cross functional teams
  • Prior experience in a large IT organization within the Pharma, Clinical or medical device area preferred
  • Exceptional knowledge of business processes and willingness to constantly update knowledge.
  • Communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of industry best practices to guide the senior and mid-level BA and BPA team on issues related to business processes and requirements
  • Have oversight and provide feedback on how the team is following business analyst and business process analyst best practices
  • Inbuilt ability to multi-task, working on more than one issue simultaneously
  • Conflict resolution as it relates to people and project priorities
  • Able to take the initiative and carry out tasks independently
  • Understanding of financial and accounting regulatory and reporting requirements: experience in forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis combined with understanding of KPIs
  • Good to have any industry standard BA certification like CBAP, PMI PBA, EXIN BCS BA etc
  • MS in Business or Computer Information Systems or BS and equivalent work experience
