The Institute was created through the generous $100 million gift from Dr. Fred Eshelman. The Institute provides a mechanism for faculty, staff and students at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy to seek funding for bold, transformative ideas and also provides opportunities to educate and train students and postdoctoral fellows; foster collaboration, creativity and innovation; and stimulate commercialization of intellectual property and entrepreneurial development. To facilitate this work, we are seeking a highly qualified program manager dedicated to these efforts. Position Description The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive professional support to the Associate Dean for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Risk Management / Associate Director for the Eshelman Institute for Innovation. The position's primary responsibility is to relieve the Associate Dean of operational and administrative details and perform administrative functions that require thorough knowledge of the School's policies, procedures, and operations. In this capacity, the Executive Assistant is responsible for providing calendar and email support, event planning, and office management. The position will perform an extensive range of highly visible activities such as communication with various university and external constituents at multiple levels. The Executive Assistant is responsible for independent problem solving, answering questions, providing information and taking action on behalf of the Associate Dean as authorized. This position must analyze, prioritize, and keep track of multiple pieces of complex and often confidential information in order to make accurate, efficient recommendations regarding workflow, and provide facilitation and processing of information and verbal and written correspondence. The incumbent must facilitate completion of work at a rapid pace on time-sensitive matters with routine interruptions. The Executive Assistant will also assist in the preparation of progress and budget reports. All of the above must be done with minimal errors and utmost professionalism in an office whose priorities must adapt to evolving needs and demands from within the School and with strategic partners. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
