Job Summary: The BI/Report Developer is responsible for developing/programming/coding and documenting applications and integrations used on a variety of platforms; integral in the design of applications; performing QA activities to verify data integrity. Responsible for designing, developing, and testing computer reports, dashboards, and applications. Applications and integrations include reports, data exports, Business Intelligence (BI)/Data Warehousing (DW) tasks, and other data related tasks. The BI/Report Developer has an in depth understanding of the uses of applications and data to support business needs and requirements. This position requires excellent communication, technical, and project management skills. Primary Accountabilities: 1. Designs and develops/programs/codes new SQL procedures, SSRS packages, and BI/DW reports and dashboards ranging from simple to complex to meet business needs 3. Assures the integrity of data and associated reports, including data extraction, manipulation, processing, and analysis 4. Troubleshoots data issues, validates result sets, recommends and implement process improvements 5. Adheres to developing/programming/coding standards and documentation requirements 6. Assists in the development and improvement of policies and procedures for appropriate data uses throughout the organization 7. Assists in ensuring the utilization of advanced data analysis, including statistical analysis, data mining techniques and use of MS SQL Server (particularly T-SQL and SSRS), and other analytic software such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and Excel 8. Collaborates with subject matter experts and department leaders to define report and dashboard requirements 9. Participates in Data Warehousing (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) projects, and works to ensure implementation 10. Responsible for analyzing the information / requirements that has either been provided to them or that they have gathered (by consulting with end-users), and then designing and developing/coding/programming prototypes and/or solutions to meet those requirements 11. Provides business users with the data required for reports, dashboards, and metrics by developing/coding/programming applications, reports, queries, and/or dashboards 12. Draws conclusions and effectively communicate findings with both technical and non-technical team members 13. Performs QA activities to verify results from assigned projects 14. Maintains effective and collaborative vendor relationships 15. Other duties as assigned by manager Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, occasional lifting (up to twenty pounds), finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and visual acuity Work Environment: Normal office environment. Regular travel between offices. Frequent collaboration via telephone and video conferencing. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Science or a related discipline required; advanced degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields is a plus. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Not applicable Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, Microsoft SQL platform database development, data mining, report development, and business analysis Significant Microsoft Power BI or Tableau development experience strongly preferred Extensive experience writing complex SQL stored procedures, formatting data, and manipulating data Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users to provide business solutions Outstanding verbal, written, and visual presentation skills Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks, and function independently as well as with teams Ability to be a strategic thinker with motivation to always learn more, be a team player, and perform as a self-starterby Jobble
