# Position Summary Information## Department DescriptionCampus Health Services (CHS) is a multi-specialty ambulatory college health clinic providing quality, and affordable health care for eligible students and spouses. Annually, CHS has more than 80,000 patient encounters, which includes Primary Care and Gynecology as well as specialty clinics in sports medicine, orthopedics, physical therapy, counseling and psychological services, travel clinic and allergy clinic. Weekend acute care is provided from 8-5 PM. On site ancillary services include pharmacy, OTC pharmacy, medical laboratory, and radiology.Campus Health Services has been continuously accredited since 1986 by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. All personnel are trained in the concepts and principles of Performance Improvement and serve as team members and leaders in shaping and defining the organization as it strives to provide quality and safe care.Campus Health Services collaborates with Student Wellness and Campus Recreation and other Student Affairs partners to provide education and outreach to assist in keeping the campus population healthy.Education and research comprise another important function of CHS. CHS provides clinical rotations and practicums for students in the School of Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Public Health, Department of Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health and Radiology. The position requires the ability to function as an individual practitioner, as a member of the health care team, and as an advocate for the health of the University Community at the population level. This position's primary placement is in the Gynecology clinic and should be skilled in all aspects of reproductive health and contraceptive management including Long Acting Reversible Contraception.## Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsLicensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of North Carolina.## Essential Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesTraining and licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of North Carolina, with clinical experience in gynecology. Demonstrates full knowledge of the clinical principles and practices of general medicine and college health care and gynecology. Ability to accurately assess and treat a diverse patient population in a clinical or medical setting. Interacts with patients, patients' family members, students, and other medical staff to coordinate medical needs and services in an effective manner. The ability to establish and maintain effective communications and work relationships with physicians, health care personnel, patients and families, agencies directing review programs, and others. Ability to coordinate and facilitate a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments. Experience with IUD and nexplanon insertions.## Preferred QualificationsExperience with management of Sexual Assaults with certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.
