Job Description:
Seeking a Gastroenterologist to care for veterans in NC! Sign-On
Bonus Authorized! The Salisbury VA HealthCare system is currently
recruiting a 3 full-time Gastroenterologist who is proficient in
general GI procedures (EGD and colonoscopy) and interested in
hepatology or IBD for our Kernersville, Salisbury, and Charlotte,
North Carolina locations. Our facility utilizes 190 Olympus scopes
and provides anesthesia on select days to support a comprehensive
range of general gastrointestinal (GI) procedures. Research
Opportunity: Research can be explored for an appointment at WFBH.
Fellows are not circulating in Kernersville currently. There are
four fellows per year in Salisbury, NC. Academic Affiliation:
Atrium Health Wake Forest Benefits Salary Range: $300,000-$400,000
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary
increases Work-Life Balance: Various flexible schedule options are
available. This includes standard 8–10-hour workdays and compressed
work schedules. Call Schedule : There is no call at Kernersville.
It is an HCC. Can take calls at Salisbury VA Medical Center one day
a week. Paid Time Off : 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per
year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid
Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and
federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by V.A. Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal
insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1
full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement Malpractice: Free liability

Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
Requirements U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed
when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance
with VA Policy. Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an
equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is
required. Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete,
and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state,
territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District
of Columbia. Residency: Completion of a residency program in an
accredited core specialty. Board Certification: Candidates must be
board-certified or board eligible. Must be eligible for academic
