Physician Assistant | Urgent Care Location: Roanoke Rapids, NC Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Family Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant - Family Practice, Physician Assistant - Acute Care Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, providing compassionate and high-quality urgent care services to diverse patient populations. This vital role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our community by delivering comprehensive adult and pediatric care in a fast-paced setting. You will operate as the primary provider, handling a range of cases including minor procedures, while working alongside a supportive team committed to excellence in healthcare delivery. Key Responsibilities: Provide urgent care for adult and pediatric patients (ages 6 months and up) in a high-volume environment. Perform procedures such as I&D, lac repairs, ear irrigations, and other minor interventions. Utilize Epic EMR for accurate charting and documentation, ensuring seamless continuity of care. Manage up to 60 patient visits per day, maintaining a positive attitude and professional soft skills. Sole provider in the center, so independence and confidence in clinical decision-making are essential. Adhere to credentialing and certification requirements, including Board Certification or NCCPA, PA Cert, Family NP Cert, BLS, and NC DEA. Required Skills: Minimum of 12 months of experience treating both adults and pediatrics. Proficiency in Epic EMR and demonstrated ability to manage a busy urgent care caseload. Strong soft skills to effectively engage with patients and support staff. Ability to work independently as the sole provider in the center. Valid DEA, BLS certifications, and current state licensure. Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience performing minor procedures such as abscess I&D or lac repairs. Familiarity with high-volume clinic operations. Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required. Experience in a fast-paced urgent care or emergency setting. Preferred Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner program. Board certification via NCCPA or equivalent licensing boards. At least 12 months of direct clinical experience in urgent care or emergency environments. Other Requirements: Ability to commit to participating in scheduled EMR training sessions and onboarding on designated Wednesdays. Willingness to support multiple locations within a 60-mile radius of your residence. No travel or lodging reimbursements are provided; support includes mileage reimbursement only.
