required Description: Provides competent clinical nursing care
consistent with professional standards. Reports to the Nurse
Manager/Director. Responsible for coordinating and delivering
patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. Uses
patient education materials relevant to the patient population with
assistance. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient, family, and
caregivers. Evaluates factors affecting the ability to learn and
the developmental level of the patient. Identifies expected patient
outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in revision of the plan of
care. Participates in discussions with members of the
interdisciplinary team in evaluating patient care. Communicates
relevant information to promote continuity of care. Demonstrates
competence in the care of patients with complex problems,
considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects
of care. Performs bedside point of care testing as required for the
patient care plan. Utilizes nursing standards, policies, and
procedures in the delivery of care. Organizes and prioritizes care
according to patient and family needs. Consults with appropriate
resources in a timely manner regarding patients with complex care
issues. Develops goals to promote professional growth or minimize
limitations with assistance. Achieves goals and objectives within
