Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/28/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Location: Scotland Memorial Hospital, 500 Lauchwood Dr, Laurinburg, NC 28352 Job ID: 2949641 Contract Group: Scotland Memorial Hospital Start Date: 07/21/2025 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12 hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Positions Available: 1 Overview: Scotland Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN to provide comprehensive care in obstetrics, nursery, labor, and mother/baby units. This role requires flexibility to also work postpartum and medical-surgical areas. Responsibilities: - Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby units, including obstetric and newborn care - Assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, C-sections (circulating and scrubbing), forceps/vacuum extractions, and manage hemorrhage/shock situations - Perform sterile vaginal exams, fetal monitoring (external and internal), and assist with procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, tubal ligation - Administer medications including anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline - Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, phototherapy, metabolic screening, cord care, and parent education on infant care - Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and manage abnormal tracings using EFM, spiral electrodes, and intrauterine pressure catheters - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams such as PT, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams Qualifications: - Minimum 4 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS - Experience with fetal monitoring and neonatal care essential - Preferred experience with Epic or Meditech EMR systems - Must be willing to float to postpartum and medical-surgical units as needed - Valid State or Compact RN License required - Ability to work nights and every other weekend - Facility housing offered (with $5/hr rate reduction) Patient Population: - Adolescents, infants, and adults in antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care - High-risk pregnancies including preeclampsia, inductions, multiple births, and pregnancy-induced hypertension About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
