Pay Information $1,894 per week About The Position Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Required licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ability to critically think and recognize hemodynamic changes in patients - Effective communication skills to relay changes to physicians, patients, and families - Knowledge of chest tubes, PIV starts, and LVAD management - Proficiency in post catheterization procedures including sheath removal - Experience with medication management for critical care gtts Description: This position is for an RN specializing in the Progressive Care Unit. The unit has a total of 25 beds, with an average census of 22. Patients include those along the heart failure continuum, such as MI, CHF, and heart arrhythmias. Patient ratios are typically RN to patient at 1:4-5, with CNAs assisting at a ratio of 1:11-13. The facility is equipped with technology such as electronic medical records, IV pumps, and Philips monitors. In department support includes CNAs responsible for various patient care activities. The unit fosters a diverse culture with team members of all experience levels.
