10'sDuke Oncology Treatment Center- Administer chemotherapy,
immunotherapy agents, and research medications via different routes
ofadministration including intravenous, oral, subcutaneous,
intrathecal, intraperitoneal, intravascular,and through
intrahepatic pumps.- Nurses provide education to patients and
family members to ensure patients are aware ofchemotherapy side
effects of each medication, the importance of their treatment, and
when to calla healthcare provider once at home.- Each nurse is
responsible to understand important lab results for each patient
and determine bodysurface area calculations.- Other
responsibilities include administering electrolyte supplementation,
intravenous fluids, painmedications, blood products, and
injections. Nurses in the Oncology Treatment Center placeperipheral
IVs as well as access central lines including port-a-caths, PICC
lines, and Hickman central lines. Occ SummaryPlan and provide
professional nursing care forpatients in accordancewith physician
orders and established policies and procedures. Work Performed Plan
and provide profe ssional nursing care for patients

procedures to includecollecting and analyzing patient data,
developing and implementingnursing care plans, establishin

Qualifications EducationWork requires graduation from an accredited
BSN program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1,
2014 and March 31, 2021 without a Bachelor's degreein Nursing (or
higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within
two years of their start date but must complete the program within
five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July
1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in
this job classification. Experience Twelve months of appropriate
clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion,
employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional
performers may be eligible for this level. Degrees, Licensures,
Certifications Must have current or compact RN licensure in the
