Position Description:

Singularly develops, enhances and maintains Java based applications

according to Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Designs batch cycles by

integrating database and UNIX components. Designs and codes complex

procedural and SQL logic based on Oracle and SQL server environments.

Performs integration with Physical Security Information Management

(PSIM) Systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going

development efforts.

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in

multiple platforms.

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several

divisional initiatives.

• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to

implementation.

• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance

testing.

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications

supporting several corporate initiatives.

• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a

project.

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional

analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

• Provides on-call support.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,

Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics,

Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in

the job offered or three (3) years of experience performing full stack

development of Java based applications in a WebSphere or Tomcat

environment.

Or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)

in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information

Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1)

year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience

performing full stack development of Java based applications in a

WebSphere or Tomcat environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, implementing, and

maintaining complex Java applications using Struts, Spring, JavaScript,

JSPs and ORM frameworks; and developing Web services using JAX-WS, SOAP,

XML and WSDL, according to Agile/Waterfall methodologies.

• DE executing UNIX shell scripting and setting up Control-M jobs

for file management, file validation, and formatting; and utilizing

Service Center for debugging, incident tracking, triaging, and

production support.

• DE designing, implementing, and tuning complex database

applications, using PL/SQL with TOAD and SQL Developer on Oracle

platform, including source code management and version control using

Subversion.

• DE performing complex java application infrastructure upgrades

and migrations on Linux/windows machines deployed on Tomcat, WebSphere

servers while maintaining application reliability and operability,

resolving technical issues, and performing end-to-end validations for

corporate physical security.
