Job Description:
Acts as a full stack engineer within an Agile team -- performing
requirements gathering, developing, and testing. Uses business
knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into
business solutions by developing complex or multiple software
applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and
recommends changes in project development policies, procedures,
standards, and strategies to development experts and
management. Primary Responsibilities: Performs as a full stack engineer, including requirements
gathering, development, and testing. Participates in architecture design teams. Defines and implements application level architecture. Develops applications on complex projects, components, and
subsystems for the division. Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and
reviews and validates test plans. Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications
or subsystems. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects
across multiple platforms. Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for
projects. Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for
multiple projects. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various
project/technology issues. Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical
evaluation estimates on technology initiatives. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Performs independent and complex technical and functional
analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional
initiatives. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going
development efforts. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
performing mainframe brokerage and stock plan services systems
application development. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years of experience performing mainframe brokerage and
stock plan services systems application development. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing full-stack engineering --
developing, designing, analyzing, and performing quality control of
mainframe and distributed applications, using Jira, Xray, Selenium,
and uDeploy -- according to Agile methodologies; and performing
mainframe brokerage and stock plan services systems application
development, using COBOL, Java, Abend-AID and Intertest, File-Aid,
and Easytrieve. DE performing full-stack engineering -- performing application
development, using JCL, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, MQ-Series, Java,
SQL, and REXX; developing data processes and structures for ETL
between mainframe and distributed systems using Informatica;
developing native stored procedures (NSPs), using Data Studio; and
promoting efficient data movement between mainframe and reporting
systems, using Axway and Informatica. DE performing mainframe application development for Stock Plan
Administration and performance tuning within TSO and MVS operating
system environments; performing version control (using Endevor,
Git, and ClearCase), scheduling (using Control-M), debugging (using
Abend-AID and Intertest), browsing (using File-Aid), and generating
reports (using Easytrieve); and conducting performance tuning and
capacity planning, including reducing I/Os, CPU Time, MSUs, and
MIPs, using Strobe, iStrobe, Platinum Detector, and TMON. DE creating Informatica workflows between mainframe and
distributed applications; performing Shell Scripting, using Unix
and Linux; and analyzing and designing data flows for mainframe and
Web-based brokerage and equity compensation application
