lead and execute marketing strategies and related initiatives that
build brand perception and reputation among the potential client

executive education. The Role: The Senior Director of Marketing is
responsible for developing, leading and executing marketing
strategy to generate demand for UNC Kenan-Flagler---s Executive
Development solutions. This role manages a small team of
professionals and works closely with other colleagues within UNC
Executive Development, and in partnership with UNC Kenan-Flagler
Marketing peers. Ultimately, the Senior Director will be required
to have an in-depth knowledge of the executive development
landscape, target audiences and personas, the solution portfolio,
and competitive positioning. This position reports to the President
of Executive Development. Importantly, this position calls for
special aptitudes and skills that go beyond conventional marketing
roles. The successful candidate should: --- Be highly experienced
in Business-to-business marketing --- Understand the positioning of
high value professional services --- Be capable of creative,
out-of-the-box thinking --- Be able to operate at both the
strategic and the tactical hands-on levels --- Be personally
adaptable and comfortable with ---the gray--- --- Be able to
initiate and sustain appropriate change activities Major
Responsibilities Include: --- Collaborating with the Executive
Development leadership team to develop the high-level marketing and
channel strategy --- Developing a marketing communications plan and
investment strategy that support the business goals of Executive
Development --- Planning, directing, and coordinating execution of
marketing efforts across all appropriate paid, owned and earned
mediums --- Collaborating with Business Development &
cross-functional teams to ensure effective coordination of
Marketing & Sales efforts as well as developing and reporting on
goals, supporting sales events, and advising on messaging to ensure
consistency --- Developing compelling and informative content for a
variety of marketing uses, including directing the efforts of web
and social media presence for school for relevant program
initiatives, as well as translation of clients--- experience into
engaging and accessible stories for the prospective audience(s) ---
Partnering with design staff and contract professionals to produce
high-quality creative deliverables, on-time and on-budget ---
Developing a set of key metrics for communications, across all
paid, owned, earned mediums; tracking and providing analysis to
understand and influence program reputation --- Researching demand
for our products and services, conducting competitor research, and
communicating key research data to the organization --- Developing
and managing budgets and budget requests, including expenditures,
for all program marketing --- Managing a small team of
marketing-related support staff, interns and/or contractors
Competency/Position Requirements: --- Outstanding written and
verbal communication skills --- Direct experience developing and
managing multi-channel lead-generation, content marketing and lead
nurturing campaigns (aptitude with related marketing automation
platforms, including Salesforce and Pardot) --- Demonstrated track
record of success in development of customer-centric value
propositions and tactical implementation of marketing plans ---
Experience managing complex budgets, media strategies and
advertising calendars, including familiarity with application of
data analytics and implementation of modern marketing optimization
and testing strategies --- Excellent management and leadership
skills with an ability to influence senior leaders, guide and
mentor staff and contractors, while delegating assignments as
needed to meet critical deadlines --- Demonstrated ability to gain
consensus among multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization ---
Demonstrated ability to partner with others to guide projects to
successful completion while staying within budget --- Ability to
serve as a primary point of contact between program leadership,
staff, and external program and technology partners to translate
needs into effective marketing initiatives --- Ability to motivate
people across both Executive Development and the UNC Kenan-Flagler
Business School to follow messaging and brand standards that
enhance the reputation of the Program and School Education and
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing experience
in a closely related industry; knowledge of and experience with a
variety of marketing techniques and tools, including interactive
marketing, effective use of social media and search engine
optimization; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Bachelor---s degree is required; an MBA or Master---s is strongly
preferred. Travel of up to 20% may be required. We offer a hybrid
