Position Information:
The Emergency Management (EM) Officer supports emergency management activities for the entire WakeMed system. The EM Officer researches, plans, designs, implements, monitors and evaluates emergency management performance initiatives as assigned. The EM Officer participates in assigned work groups and task forces, functioning as an EM resource for department management and staff. The EM Officer fulfills their assigned role for multiple emergency response and planned event management teams and may be required to stay and/or to return to work during emergencies to perform duties specific to this position or to perform other duties as requested in an assigned response position. The EM Officer position requires working outside normal assigned duties and/or regular schedule during planned events or emergency incidents.

Experience Requirements:
2 Years Emergency Management And 2 Years Education - Teaching and Facilitation of Learning Required - And Training Emergency Vehicle Operations Preferred

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Related Field Or Associate's Degree Related Field Required - With Equivalent Experience Bachelor's Degree Emergency Management Or Public Health Or Emergency Medical Science Preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Maintain Vehicle Operator Insurability And Hospital Incident Command Required - And State Medical Assistance Team And Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Required - Within 1 Year of Hire Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Preferred

Hours of Work:
M-F 8a - 5p
