Description TITLE: Site Director of After-School/Summer Camp
SALARY: $3276.61 X 75% = $ 2457.46 per month
BENEFITS: Full benefits including -paid holidays, sick leave,
annual leave, holiday pay, health insurance and retirement. Local
supplement of 5.5% starts the month after completion of first year.
State longevity after 10 years of service.
1. Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education or
2. One year administrative experience
3. One year experience managing and supervising a licensed
after-school program or child care
4. CPR, Standard First Aid and Playground Safety certification
5. Such alternatives or additional qualifications as Board of
Education finds appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Director, Community Schools
SUPERVISES: - Assistant Site Directors, Group Leaders, Substitutes,
- Documentation of TB test results, dated and signed by a medical
practitioner licensed in NC -by first day of employment
- Documentation of a Medical Report within thirty days of first
day of employment
- Documentation of six hours required staff orientation completed
within first two weeks of employment
- Documentation of additional three hours required staff
orientation completed within first -six weeks of employment
- Documentation of OSHA, Diabetes, Allergy and Managing Behavior
I&II Training completed within first month of employment
- Documentation of Basic School-Age Care (BSAC) Training
completed within sixty days of employment
- Documentation of CPR, SFA and Playground Safety
- Documentation of 15 hour staff devleopment completed
1. Program Responsibilities
a. Plans, organizes and supervises all program activities in
accordance with the NC Child Care Licensing Requirements.
b. Assures adherence to policies relating to the operation of
After-School and Summer Camp programs in this school system.
c. Provides an environment that insures the safety and well being
of students and staff.
d. Provides an environment that meets and accommodates the
individual mental, physical, emotional and social developmental
needs of students.
e. Provides age-appropriate materials to support daily activity
f. Plans, directs and evaluates full-day school-age care program on
all Teacher Workdays.
g. Plans and implements field trips for students.
h. Solicits, assesses and implements student, parent and staff
ideas for program activities.
i. Utilizes school, program and community resources to enhance
program goals and provide enriching activities for students.
j. Compiles and distributes four site newsletters annually.
k. Assists Program Supervisor with updating and developing program
2. Administrative Responsibilities
a. Directs the After-School and Summer Camp sites in accordance
with school rules.
b. Ensures the implementation of age-appropriate, creative and
engaging daily activities that foster a positive environment for
students in grades K-5.
c. Supervises Assistant Site Directors, Group Leaders, volunteers
d. Provides positive, professional role modeling in teaching and
e. Prepares and posts daily activity plans in accordance with NC
f. Assists in the selection and training of Assistant Site
Directors, Group Leaders and substitutes.
g. Counsels staff as needed to ensure program continuity.
h. Follows school district and program policies for managing

j. Attends Site Director meetings and holds weekly staff
k. Monitors program daily and evaluates program effectiveness.
l. Evaluates staff performance according to district policy.
m. Maintains district health and safety guidelines in accordance
with OSHA standards.
n. Adheres to National School Lunch regulations for student snacks
o. Develops and follows appropriate procedures for emergency
p. Cooperates, collaborates and communicates frequently with the
school administrators and teachers to provide effective programming
and to build strong relationships with school personnel.
q. Organizes and directs site-based After-School Advisory
r. Utilizes financial resources efficiently, monitors expenses and
maintains accurate records.
s. Reports building, equipment repairs to the Principal and
Director of Community Schools.
t. Conducts monthly fire drills and other drills as required;
maintains records of drills.
u. Maintains daily student attendance, medical and emergency
v. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Community
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
After-School Program: Ten months, full-time, hours determined by
program requirements. -
Summer Camp: Seven weeks, full-time, hours determined by program
needs. Salary is in accordance with adopted schedule
EVALUATION: - Performance is evaluated annually in accordance with
the Board of Education's policy on Evaluation of Classified
