About North Carolina Hillel North Carolina Hillel empowers and inspires students to pursue their own Jewish journeys by creating strong communities and transformative experiences. We aspire to cultivate within students a commitment to these core values:
              • -------------- Kehillah--- Community: building relationships with Jews at home, in Israel, and around the world
              • -------------- Limmud--- Learning: a lifelong pursuit of deeper understanding and Jewish learning
              • ---------- Tzedek--- Justice: striving for a more just and righteous world Hillel @ NC State has grown incredibly since it first added half-time staff in 2014, accelerated by the opening of the first Hillel Center in March 2017, located on the most highly foot-trafficked block of Hillsborough St. In the 2019-20 school year, we engaged 181 Jewish undergraduate students, more than tripling the number of students connected to Hillel in 2013-14; of those, 61 students participated in high-impact experiences, a 663% increase over that time. About NC State University and Raleigh Since its founding in 1887, North Carolina State University has sought to open the doors of higher education to all of North Carolina, and to transform the state by developing and dispersing an understanding of agricultural and mechanical sciences. With more than 34,000 students and nearly 8,000 faculty and staff, North Carolina State University is a comprehensive university known for its leadership in education and research, and globally recognized for its excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Raleigh, known as "The City of Oaks," is the capital of North Carolina. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country and regularly places towards the top of national "quality of life" and "best place to live" rankings. Lively, smart and unexpected, Raleigh's historic landmarks and burgeoning cosmopolitan offerings in a one-of-a-kind capital setting make it a "can't miss" cultural and entertainment center of the Southeast. Located in an area known as the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill), Raleigh is also a great place to be Jewish. The Triangle's Jewish population is growing rapidly and behaves like a community much larger. This vibrant Jewish community includes nine congregations (including Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, Reconstructionist, and Humanistic), Jewish Community Centers in Raleigh and in Durham, and The Lerner Jewish Community Day School in Durham. Moreover, the Jewish federations located in Raleigh-Cary, Durham-Chapel Hill, Greensboro, and Charlotte work together to form a strong connection across NC. About Hillel International In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at more than 550 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders. North Carolina Hillel is affiliated with Hillel International. Hillel International enriches the lives of Jewish students so they may enrich the Jewish people and the world, and envisions a world where every student is inspired to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel.
Hillel--is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
