The Chief Program Officer (CPO) will serve as a critical member of the executive management team. The Chief Program Officer position is responsible for the overall development, expansion, integration and implementation of Company International's program strategy and country office operations.--In collaboration with the CEO, the CPO will articulate and implement the strategic vision and leadership of the organization; oversee all country programs-related services; drive program performance and institutionalization of continuous quality improvement; help to promote and diversify funding through effective resource stewardship; and provide mentoring, guidance, supervision, and professional development to all program leadership staff.Company seeks This position will be based at our headquarters in Chapel Hill, NC.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProgram Delivery and Performance Monitoring--(40%)* Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of all programs, contracts, and related services, promoting collaborative relationships between program areas and ensuring that the expectations of funders, partners, clients, and other stakeholders are consistently met.* Accountable for program performance. Institutes a robust performance-monitoring/continuous quality improvement system that identifies emerging issues for immediate course correction. Creates culture of data use throughout the organization.* Ensures that cutting-edge best practices are taken to scale to increase impact across programs.* Respond to requests for proposals and applications in partnership with new business development and senior staff; coordinate planning and activities necessary for development of model program designs in response to RFPs and RFAs.* Work closely with the finance department to budget and monitor programmatic operations to ensure sound fiscal and system management.* Ensure the delivery of qualitative and quantitative goals and outcomes of programs and services.* Determine staffing plans to achieve program goals and objectives and participate in hiring decisions for new program staff.Management and Organizational Leadership (30%)* In coordination with the Chief Executive Officer and executive team, play a key role in the overall development, strategic planning, program delivery and performance, and management of the organization across multiple countries, sites, and departments.* Directly supervise program directors, and managers; work closely with senior program staff to build their skills and confidence so that they can mentor, encourage, and motivate all staff. Build a strong country and programmatic leadership team and foster the development of our leadership pipeline.* Provide assistance and guidance on troubleshooting program and staff performance challenges. Mentor directors and managers on proactively engaging in planning to improve program management.* Deploy resources efficiently and effectively toward organizational goals, working with staff to balance workload and effort, and provide regular feedback so that key staff can continuously improve their supervision and mentoring skills.* Create and support a high-performing culture in the Center for Program Delivery and Learning, aligned with Company's core values.Strategy and Development (15%)* In partnership with the CEO and Chief Growth Officer, implement Company's new strategic plan, as well as develop and implement new initiatives that reflect the organization's mission.* Monitor emerging needs among key stakeholders such as clients, government, philanthropy, and employers.* Establish annual program, departmental, and staff goals and objectives and track results against these goals as well as accountability protocols.* Participate in the budget-development process and maintain a high level of fiscal responsibility.* Support fund-development efforts through the promotion and execution of OBT's annual fundraising event, proposal writing, and partnering with the CEO to steward funding relationships.* Coordinate with the to support business development efforts, including by effectively allocating CPDL resources to support business development efforts, fostering a culture of growth within CPDL, and supporting the integration of successful pilots and ongoing program learning efforts into proposals.* Identify emerging trends and approaches and effectively respond to the rapidly evolving development landscape.* Position Company to be recognized as one of the most efficient, high-quality program implementers and the go-to organization for agile delivery and program impact.Client Management (15%)* Implements a systematic approach to managing and growing a named set of our most important customers, including at the global and country levels, to maximize mutual value and achieve mutually beneficial goals* Takes an active role in building long-term business relationships using a customer-centric approach* Represent Company on relevant committees and task forces, as well as at speaking engagements, conference panels and trainings.EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE* Master's degree plus 15 years of experience in international development, international business, non-profit management, or relevant experience; or PhD/MD plus 12 years of experience in international development, international business, non-profit management, or relevant experience* 10 years of supervisory experience is required; or preferred--7--years of senior management experience in global health or international development* Track record of success in high-quality program delivery, administrative management, performance monitoring, and teambuilding & mentorship* Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team in a multi-country structure.* Demonstrated ability to analyze and compile complex data for program performance and quality improvement.* Comprehensive working knowledge of program planning, organizational structure, budgeting, administrative operations, and fundraising.* Working knowledge in global health and or other health sectors.* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders.* Strong relationship-builder with the ability to find common ground, build consensus, and strengthen collaboration among diverse stakeholders.* Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, inclusiveness, and empowerment.
