Position Summary The Assistant Director of Stewardship and Endowment Management is responsible for managing the stewardship efforts for gifts received by the SPH Advancement Office in the Gillings School of Global Public Health, including detailed gift reporting, processing, analysis, and creative strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement, this position is responsible for several key functions: Endowed fund stewardship, donor recognition and engagement, stewardship plans, and gift processing. This position develops stewardship strategies and policies to ensure that donors receive substantive and impactful stewardship relative to their gift level, area of impact, and relationship to the School. The Assistant Director of Stewardship and Endowment Management will be a liaison with the University Development Office, the School’s finance office, and departments to monitor, gather, and manage fund-use information to be able to report use and impact information to donors of endowed funds. This includes leading a recurring six-month project that produces more than 175 personalized reports, representing over $25 million in endowment funding, ensuring donors receive clear, detailed updates on the impact of their gifts. Additionally, this role is responsible for facilitating meetings with donors and recipients of scholarships and professorships, ranging from casual coffee discussions to full-day visits on campus. The Assistant Director of Stewardship and Endowment Management will manage a portfolio of specialized stewardship plans on select high-level donors and will oversee membership, communications, and stewardship for the School’s Rosenau Society (a leadership giving society with an average of 475 members annually). Additionally, this position will be responsible for understanding current and future Federal and state regulations as well as University policies as they relate to scholarships, financial aid, and student information, including how and when information can be shared with third parties (i.e., donors of scholarships). This position will serve as a subject matter expert to development officers and donors, helping them understand these regulations and their impact on the information shared during the stewardship process. Work Schedule 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
