Job Description:
Description Your Role & Impact As a Water Resources Staff
Engineer (Engineer I), you will play a key role in supporting the
planning, review, and execution of water resources engineering
projects that serve our community’s infrastructure and future
growth. You’ll apply your technical skills to ensure projects meet
high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency, while
collaborating with internal teams, contractors, and customers. Your
work will help PWC stay true to its mission: a safe, highly
productive utility that invests in our team, our facilities, and
our infrastructure. What You’ll Do Review and analyze sketches,
drawings, plans, and specifications for proposed projects, ensuring
compliance with design standards and approved materials Perform
field work, take measurements, and compile/analyze data to support
project decisions Identify discrepancies in results and recommend
effective solutions Serve as a liaison between engineering and
construction units, and meet with clients, customers, and
contractors regarding utility services Prioritize work based on
project requirements to ensure effective resource utilization
Provide input into departmental objectives, work plans, and budgets
Respond to internal and external customer concerns in a
professional and timely manner Promote teamwork, safety, and a
positive work environment Prepare and maintain accurate reports and
records Perform other related duties as assigned What We’re Looking
For Good knowledge of safety rules, civil engineering principles,
and standard engineering practices Skill in drawing engineering
maps/sketches and applying logical deduction Ability to perform
accurate, complex mathematical computations and evaluate technical
problems Strong communication skills—both oral and written Ability
to interpret blueprints, prepare reports, and maintain effective
working relationships with employees, officials, contractors, and
the public Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a
four-year accredited college or university (Professional Engineer
Intern (EI) certification preferred) OR Associate in Applied
Science (AAS) degree in Civil Engineering Technology from an
accredited two-year college/technical school (EI certification
