Cancer Administrative Services -Job Summary:The Administrative
Director of Cancer Services at the North Carolina Cancer Hospital
is responsible for the overall leadership of the non-clinical
aspects of Cancer Services as well as business development, program
planning, operational analysis, financial analysis, problem
resolution, personnel management, and performance improvement for
the service line as a whole. The position will have particular
emphasis on usage of key insights from quality data and analytics
to drive strategic growth and improve patient access across a
state-wide cancer network.Description of Job Responsibilities:
1.Provides strategic direction and operational oversight for
patient access functions including registration, template
management, communications, and scheduling to assure
-accomplishment of health system's patient access goals through
well-organized, efficient, and effective processes. - -2.Leads the
development of business plans, market studies, pro formas, data
analysis, and presentations to inform and support leadership's
decision-making related to strategic initiatives. 3.Provides
supervision and direction to team of analysts to support data needs
for quality improvement projects and strategic priorities and works
with other NCCH leaders to understand needs and advocate for
effective use of data. 4.Manages projects to ensure success,
including developing detailed project plans to guide and direct
projects undertaken, monitoring activities against plans, and
providing updates to stakeholders. 5.Coordinates with network
development to serve as a key NCCH relationship manager,
ambassador, and point of contact with referring providers,
physician practices, hospitals, and other community health service
providers. - -6.Identifies, develops, and fosters key relationships
with other health system leaders and providers, both internal and
external. 7.Performs a variety of personnel management functions
including the hiring, evaluating, counseling, and terminating of
assigned management and support staff; 8.Provides coaching,
mentoring, and support to managers, colleagues , and staff, serving
as a role model in professional behavior and leadership skills,
problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills 9.Identifies
patient and family needs of the populations served; recommends
and/or develops new programs and services to meet those needs and
strategic growth of NCCH. 10.Reviews financial reports and makes
appropriate modifications to reduce costs associated with supplies,
staffing, and service agreements and/or identifies sound
alternatives for purchasing equipment and supplies. - -11.Completes
budgets and submits for approval for departments. Approves and
oversees the allocation of resources based upon organizational,
divisional, and departmental goals and objectives for services.
Holds staff accountable for their assigned budgets. Reports
variances and takes corrective action. 12.Leads service line
performance improvement initiatives and maintains ongoing quality
improvement plan consistent with organizational and NCCH specific
standards and goals; continuously assess and improves performance
while enhancing service.Additional Responsibilities:

Education Requirements:
--- Bachelor's degree in related field; Master's degree in Business
Administration, Health Administration, or related field
preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
--- If a Registered Nurse: Requires licensed to practice as a
Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Professional Experience Requirements:
--- If Bachelor's degree, Five (5) years of healthcare
operations/revenue cycle/analytics experience in a tertiary care
setting, including three (3) years of experience in a supervisory
position in a related field.
--- If Master's degree: Three (3) years of professional healthcare
operations/revenue cycle/analytics - experience in a tertiary care
setting with two (2) years in supervisory position in a related
field.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
--- Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements,
regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise. - -
Ability to work independently and to accept responsibility for
complex and sensitive decision-making as it relates to the overall
conduct of the service line. High degree of analytic ability and
confidentiality to manage the financial and human resources aspects
of the position. Creativity and innovation with respect to
development of new initiatives, identification and evaluation of
new business opportunities, strategic planning, and program
development. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, oral, and
written communication and interpersonal skills required.
