Job Description:
Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role
in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial
reportingReporting directly to the Controller, the Senior
Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions,
including but not limited to:Accounts Payable:
- Overseeing the AP processes including processing invoices,
reconciling AP to the GL, vendor management, expense report
management, and 1099 management.Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in
accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and
completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of internal management reports and
presentations.General Ledger Management:
- Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries,
reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Review and analyze balance sheet accounts to identify
discrepancies and propose corrective actions.Budgeting and
Forecasting:
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing
financial analysis and insights.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop accurate and
achievable financial plans.
- Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, providing
explanations and recommendations as needed.Tax Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns
and other tax-related documents.
- Stay updated on tax laws and regulations relevant to the
renewable energy industry.
- Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance
and optimize tax strategies.Internal Controls:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard
company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory
requirements.
- Perform periodic internal audits to assess control
effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and
provide necessary support and documentation.Special Projects:
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by
management.
- Provide financial analysis and support for strategic
decision-making. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
requiredCPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience,
preferably in the renewable energy sector or related industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting
standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen
attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a
fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the
ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a
culture of integrity.
